Integrations and Data Feeds

After listening to the feedback of our users we have redesigned the layout of the integrations page. By splitting out the various sections we have created a logical flow of steps based on the common tasks involved in setting up a data feed. The Integrations section is now composed of four tabs:

  1. Setup Integration
  2. Management
  3. Import Data
  4. Export Data

Setup Integration Tab

On this page the list of possible data feeds is shown in an expanded view with indication as to which ones are actively connected and which ones are not.

Once a feed is set up you can easily update the credentials provided by clicking on the "Change Login" button.  Some feeds require a back office set up; those are clearly identified as well as the steps needed to do so.

Management Tab

The management tab allows you to handle pending imports as well as edit existing connections. Select the management type using the drop down and the grid will show you accounts that need attention or that are available in the system for editing.

The functionality of these grids remains unchanged from the previous version; we have simply consolidated all feed management tasks into one tab for your convenience.

Accounts to Import:
Pending accounts that need to be classified are shown in this grid. At login, you will be brought to this list whenever there are accounts that need to be classified before import.

Edit Imported Accounts:
All accounts that have been imported, regardless of the data source, can be reclassified for type, ownership, and status from this screen. Simply type in a last name and click the search button. If you want to view all accounts, do not type in anything in the search field and click the search button.

Import Data Tab

On this tab we have consolidated the search function for all integrations you have set up in the system. Simply select the data source and then search for the client by last name.

From the resulting list of clients click on the check box next to the ones you want to import in the system and you will get the list of available accounts. Choose account type, ownership and voilá, job done.

Export Data Tab

On this tab we have consolidated all of the export features. Choose one of the programs you can export to from the drop down list to see export instructions and options for each one.

In this example we see the list of clients that can be exported to LaserApp. Selecting the radio button next to a name and clicking the OK button at the bottom of the page will create an export file that you can then upload to LaserApp via their web interface.

This is good, but only allows CRM connections. This can be used to import existing client and account data only. How about Integration options with a 3rd party Financial planning platform.

As much as we would like to be able to integrate seamlessly with other Financial Planning Platforms, this is less than rare in an industry where competing platforms are not looking to make a transition to a competitor any easier than it has to be. Customer retention is one of the primary goals of most of the companies in the industry, be it through outstanding customer service, appealing pricing structure, contractual obligations, or lack of data portability.
